- Who is encouraged to participate?
This event is for all women, trans, nonbinary, genderqueer, and two-spirit individuals over the age of 18. The building and construction industry is historically cis-male-dominated, and our mission is to create a space to uplift those who don’t fit that norm!
- Where is the event being held?
ClayFest NW 2025 will take place in Port Angeles, WA on a beautiful piece of private land with retreat facilities.
- When does the event start and end?
ClayFest programming will begin on the morning of Friday, Aug 1 and close on Sunday afternoon. If you want to arrive early on Thursday to settle in, please do! We will welcome early arrivals anytime in the afternoon. You are also invited stay an extra day and explore Olympic National Park on Monday. Free camping is available on-site Thursday through Sunday nights.
- Do I need to have prior skills or building experience?
Nope! People of all skills levels are welcome, from beginners to professional builders.
- What amenities are offered at the venue?
Free camping is available with a gorgeous view of the Olympic mountains! The venue offers private open-air warm showers with natural-built walls, indoor meeting/workshop spaces, and an on-site small market with local produce and more. Just a short drive or bus ride from town for anything else you may need!
- How do I get to the venue?
If you’re not driving, the easiest way is to fly into Seattle-Tacoma (SEA) with time left in your travel day for public transit to the venue. We will offer detailed information (including ferry and bus schedules) to help you arrive smoothly, as well as assist with coordinating ride-sharing and carpooling!
- Will meals be provided?
Delicious home-cooked meals (with options for dietary needs) will be provided for breakfast and lunch Friday through Sunday, along with snacks, coffee, and tea. Saturday night will also include a wood-fired pizza party with BYO toppings! For Friday evening, please plan to bring your own food, buy something from the small market on-site, or take the bus into town for a restaurant meal. A basic camp kitchen will also be provided.
- What about kids?
The programming of ClayFest is geared towards adults, and childcare will not be provided. If bringing your child along feels important to you, please reach out to us directly and we will do our best to accommodate.
- What is the cancellation policy?
Full refund (minus $50 processing fee) is available until July 1. After this date, special circumstances will be considered - contact us to coordinate your cancellation.
